Proficiency-Based Learning

With the shift towards personalization first articulated in Act 77, which included the requirement for every student in grades seven through twelve to have a Personalized Learning Plan that outlines an individualized path to gaining proficiency over a new set of broad categories of knowledge and skills. Vermont's Education Quality Standards (EQS) addresses personalization through proficiency-based instructional practices, flexible pathways, multi-tiered support systems, and local comprehensive assessments.

The following series of self-paced courses on Proficiency-Based Learning focus on elemental issues related to proficiency-based instructional practices. Future courses will address other topics regarding proficiency-based instructional practices, flexible pathways, multi-tiered support systems, and local comprehensive assessment systems.
